I know you’ve all heard the saying, “It takes a village,” especially in reference to raising a family. Have you thought about how it may “take a village” in raising or finding YOU?
For years, whenever someone would ask if I needed help, my answer would be no. I wanted to prove that I was independent and could do things for myself. Plus, I had a vision of how things should be done or what the final outcome should look like and if it wasn’t going in that direction, then I would stop the process and finish the project on my own, that way, I only had myself to blame if it came out crappy. Corporate dynamics and different management styles made me even more stubborn in wanting to do things on my own so I could use the opportunity to learn new things, expand my creativity, be more valuable to the company, and really show management that I had what it took to move up the ladder.
Things started to change when I went through a divorce. My family was right there to fly out, help me drive back to New Hampshire, and gave a place to stay until I could get back on my feet and figure out what to do next. I bought a house and had no experience with repairs or what to do when things went wrong. Luckily, I had a lot of male relatives who are very experienced in fixing things and helped me out. I still didn’t like asking for help but I knew when to turn it over to the professionals. It also made me realize that by allowing others to help, you’re helping them find their purpose as well.
Its easy to find people around you to help fix things when its something tangible. When its YOU who needs fixing, who do you turn to? If you had a strong faith, then maybe you prayed and asked for assistance. If you were not raised in a family with open communication or had no community or person to talk to, chances are you kept a lot of the angst inside and suffered in silence.
We’re all human, however first and foremost, we are all energy and when we are in pain, stressed, or something traumatic happens to us, those emotions are also energy. If we keep all of this angst to ourselves, then that energy finds a place within our body and settles in, causing damage, discomfort, and heightens fear. Everything around us from work, relationships, to how we look at ourselves is affected. How it actually manifests in our lives is different for everyone but it always emerges as some type of disease. Some, like me, may go into self-sabotage mode by using food to keep me in a little box or comfort zone. I would get to a point where I would feel stronger than that energy and make progress by losing weight, working out, or changing my hair and somewhere down the line, another incident would trigger that old pattern and I would be back to square one.
So the big question is, “How do I fix it?”
The first thing is to recognize it, which will most likely require asking for help.
The second thing is to ask yourself how that energy serves you.
Third, you then need to make a decision on whether or not you want to let that energy go and make a permanent change.
If you don’t want to let go or make a change, then understand that’s still a decision. Know things will continue to go on as they have been and will more than likely get pretty uncomfortable and even unbearable. If you do want to make a change, then you just need to do something. Read a book that resonates with you, use affirmations or positive quotes, get out into nature, the list goes on. Anything, any little step forward in the direction you want to go in is all it takes.
Once you set your mind to making positive changes in your life, NOTHING can stop you. Oh, for sure you will be tested! By wanting to change, you’ve now put up an eviction notice for that dysfunctional energy that has been nice and comfy all this time and its not going to like it at all. It will pull out all the stops to keep you in fear mode and your ego will continue to tell you you’re going in the wrong direction. Listen to your heart and intuition. No matter what faith you follow or believe in, know that we all have etheric guides, Guardian Angels or Masters, surrounding us that provide inspiration, ideas, and put people and opportunities in our path to help us overcome the negative chatter. As we continue to identify and clear out the dysfunctional energy, we remove its hold over us and we become stronger and more powerful.
Clearing has played a major role in my life and helped me to fully realize it was OK to say, “Yes” to help, to life, and to accept my calling. As an energy clearer myself, I understand that I can’t clear from anyone else what I haven’t cleared from me and I’ve worked tirelessly over the past several years to clear as much old stuff as possible. No one will ever be 100% clear because we are alive and get exposed to different energy and experiences all the time but we can clear out the really big stuff that’s been holding us hostage and keeping us from our purpose. It is our duty to humanity and to the planet to clear as much as we can. As we clear, we raise our energetic vibration and that causes a ripple effect in not only our own lives, but also the lives of the people around us and helps keep that village growing and thriving for generations to come.
